Early Friday morning, a mostly conservative group of citizens gathered in the Pope County Courthouse to propose a wall that would be built around the property of the casino, if it was to be constructed. The conservative group fears, primarily, that the casino will bring more sin to the community and believe that a wall will deter people from engaging in sinful activity, and at most, keep the wickedness contained and out of Russellville.

City officials heard statements from several members of the community on their thoughts before deliberating on the issue between themselves for 35 minutes, before declaring a recess for lunch.

The Pope County government is still shut shutdown, following yesterdays letter-of-support debacle, until an appropriation of funds for the wall is approved or all casino proposals are tabled indefinitely.

In attendance: -Mayor Randy Horton -Mayor-Elect Richard Harris -Judge Jim Ed Gibson -Judge-Elect Been Cross -Citizens For a Better Pope County -Pope County Citizens For A Casino -That Random Guy Named Jorge -The First Baptist Church Congregation
