Judge Jim Ed Gibson has issued a letter of support for casinos in pope county after a 60/40 vote against allowing casinos to be built. A multitude of JP's, current, and incoming officials have voiced displeasure for the letter. The Pope county government is expected to shut down, leaving many employees without pay until the issue can be resolved (which will most likely never happen, leading to the dismantling of the county government as a whole within the year).
